Supanova Cosplay Parade featuring the 501st Legion
The 11th Annual Gold Coast Film Festival
Evangelion Exhibition at The Arts Centre

Each Supa-City we do an expo that has a slightly different flavour with a sprinkling of variety and selection of things which make it uniquely awesome. But with the Gold Coast we want to take it to a whole another level; we want to take it to 9,000! As the Gold Coast isn't a state capital like the rest of the cities on the Supanova Expo tour we want you to consider the Gold Coast as that one expo a year you MUST travel to as its going to be the festival Supanova of the year.
Do you live in Sydney? Well its a must to go to the Sydney Supanova AND the Gold Coast Supanova annually, and so on and so forth for all the other cities too.
To achieve thisa most estimable of ideals we've gone all out in being the central building block for QPOW, the Queensland Pop Culture Week, alongside the Gold Coast Film Festival (GCFF), and joining forces with the Gold Coast City Council, Dreamworld, Pacific Fair Shopping Centre, The Arts Centre, Gold Coast Tourism and the Broadbeach Alliance. In fact there's a whole raft of exclusive elements which make us Supa-Excited to be part of QPOW and bringing something absolutely unique to the Gold Coast for pop culture fans!
We hope you join us in this mighty adventure as we boldly undertake phase two of our humongous plan with stage one, hosting an awesome inaugural Gold Coast Supanova Expo last year, already in the tick column as done.
In terms of Guests we have five Gold Coast Exclusives who are making their way to the land of sun, sand and surf. On top of the rest of the massive line-up of stars we're sharing with Melbourne including no less than David 'the Hoff' Hasselhoff we have:

Yuchiro Saito: Producer of Wolf Children and Summer Wars with Studio Chizu
Sylvester McCoy: The 7th incarnation of Dr Who and more recently seen as Radagast the Brown in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.
Todd Farmer: The creative juggernaut behind My Bloody Valentine 3-D, Messengers and soon Halloween 3-D.
Billy Tan: The brilliant artist on Uncanny X-Men, Schism, Shadowland and New Avengers.

The Supa-Stars are but one of the dishes we'll be serving on the Gold Coast as part of QPOW, therefore it is with great honour that we write, read on...

Bullies Aren't Scary! Teaming up with Champ, Kostya Tszyu!
Bullying is one thing we will not stand for at Supanova. It effects so many lives and can make people feel powerless and alone, which is exactly the opposite of how we want you to feel as a part of the Supanova community! Someone who agrees with us and is trying to make a difference is the former Undisputed World Boxing Champion, now turned author, Kostya Tszyu. Since Kostya’s semi-retirement from boxing, the internationally-renowned four-time World Light-Welterweight Champion has nurtured a new career: children’s book author. He appears alongside co-writer Dustin Warburton, whose film SPIDERS 3D has just been released, and illustrator, Dan Monroe. Together, they have released ‘Bullies Aren’t Scary’, a storybook intended to empower children who experience bullying.
Dustin and Kostya will be at both the Melbourne and Gold Coast expos, where they'll discuss the process of making the book, sign copies of the book (which will be available for purchase), and explore what bullying means to them and how we can overcome it. Meanwhile, fans of Kostya’s boxing can also purchase professional photo-ops or have boxing memorabilia signed by him.

HAND OF FATE CHANGES D-DAY LINE-UP
D-Day is an annual Brisbane event that is our chance to build bridges between the creators and the fans, as well as opening pathways for new and aspiring creators to meet and interact with film and TV industry professionals.
Sadly due to unforseen issues, neither Larry Cohen nor Felicia Day will be able to attend D-Day (9/11/12). Felicia will now arrive at Supanova on Saturday and will be with us for the full tour. However, Larry Cohen is no longer able to attend our event and so we bid him farewell from the line-up until a new opportunity presents itself.
The revised schedule for D-Day now includes:
1. B-MOVIE MANIACS: explore the A to Z of B-Movie making with these professionals! [1:15-2:30 PM] Genre movie expert Dr Mark Ryan in conversation with: Actress LAURENE LANDON (MANIAC COP) Entertainer CASSANDRA PETERSON, aka Elvira, Mistress of the Dark Director / Producer MICHAEL SPIERIG (Daybreakers)
2. LET'S SING... THERE'S ZOMBIES OUTSIDE! Staged reading of a new screenplay seeks feedback and… Brains! [2:45 - 3:45pm] Let's Sing... There's Zombies Outside! is a zombie musical feature film created by writers Candice Deere and Mark Deere and developed through the Screen Queensland Writers' Room initiative. Actors will read from the script and give D-Day's audience a sneak peek of the new screenplay. Brisbane-based producer Glenn Wilkinson and the creative team invite the audience to get involved in the production by giving feedback on how to make this the best zombie movie possible.
3. WEB SERIES MAVENS: Creating a hit web series [4:00 - 4:15] Hoodlum's Nick and Lara in conversation with: Felicia Day's producer on THE FLOG, Brit Weisman Official Star Trek Continues & Fallout: Nuka Break web series' Vic Mignogna.
D-Day Starts at 1pm on Friday and the Show floor is also open for those folks who want to get a head start on the whole weekend!

The Best of Supanova!
THE BOURNE LEGACY

Its already been a bumper year for Australia's biggest pop-culture expo and we have no plans of slowing down for our final two shows of the year! 2012 started with a bang with a record-breaking show in Melbourne and a huge inaugural Gold Coast expo. We then backed it up in short order for two of our biggest shows ever in Sydney and Perth! Sydney's 28,400 strong crowd filled the Dome impressively while Perth's 21,100 makes it the fastest growing show in the country! We're not resting on our laurels though, we are gearing up to make Brisbane and Adelaide a fitting cap to an amazing year!
We are pleased to announce our first round of guests for the November 2012 tour!

THE BOURNE LEGACY
The narrative architect behind the Bourne film series, Tony Gilroy, takes the helm in the next chapter of the hugely popular espionage franchise that has earned almost $1 billion at the global box office: The Bourne Legacy. The writer/director expands the Bourne universe created by Robert Ludlum with an original story that introduces us to a new hero (Jeremy Renner) whose life-or-death stakes have been triggered by the events of the first three films.
For The Bourne Legacy, Renner joins fellow series newcomers Rachel Weisz, Edward Norton, Stacy Keach and Oscar Isaac, while franchise veterans Albert Finney, Joan Allen, David Strathairn and Scott Glenn reprise their roles.
Only at the movies August 16
